Legendary singer-songwriter David Crosby has died at the age of 81

(CNN) — David Crosby, pioneer of country music and Rock’n’rolland Stills & Nash, one of the founding members of The Byrds and Crosby, has died at the age of 81, his family announced Thursday.

“It is with great sadness that our beloved David (Grose) Crosby has passed away after a long illness. He was surrounded by his wife and soul mate Jan and his son Django. Although he is no longer with us, his humanity and the kindness of his soul will continue to guide and inspire us. “His legacy will live on through his classical music. Peace, love and harmony to all who knew David. He will be greatly missed. At this time, we ask for respectful and loving privacy as we grieve and try to cope with our deep loss. Thank you for the love and prayers,” a message from the Crosby family said. Wrote in the publication.

Crosby’s representatives had no comment when contacted by CNN.

Crosby was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 along with the Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in 1997.
