The reforms for the development of Mexican soccer include nine requirements that count from 2025
The Liga MX Apertura announced restrictions on the hiring of new foreign players signed by Mexican clubs starting in 2025.
FMF and Liga MX There will be locks and requirements that each candidate must meet before they arrive, and they must be met along with senior national team, national team age limit, participation in international competitions and number of minutes in local competitions.
“We need time to make a change and work. We are in the process of landing those parameters, and with these assumptions we have five-year comparisons with foreigners who came to Mexico, and see who we are going to lose. It is a work that takes time, and that is why we have to implement it in 2025, and we do it well. “We don't want to rush to say it's 5 thousand minutes or so, because we need scientific support, but we can't make mistakes. Before the competition, we have to have something completely basic,” he revealed.
“There are teams that can invest more, there are mid-level teams that can still benefit from selling players below that in Liga MX. “We will continue to bring in players that make a difference and are within the club's budget,” he commented.
America's sporting president Santiago Banos has indicated that it is important for clubs to have two “free” overseas slots to sign players who cannot meet the requirements.
Requirements to be met by the equipment
1. Minimum minutes of play Liga MX
2. Recent record of some leagues in Europe and South America
3. A player from the second division of some European league with the minimum number of minutes played last season
4. Minimum minutes in official matches of your senior national team
5. Minimum minutes in continental matches
6. Procedures in minor teams in official FIFA competitions
7. Players below 24 years of age who do not meet any of the above requirements

9. Players without club requirements will be vetted by the Acceptance Committee.
