SUBWAYart it is known as the red planet. Its arid surface, full of dust and sand, is more like a desert. For this reason, the images recently revealed by the Pot.

This is a photograph that was taken by the Mars Odyssey probe, which was in Martian orbit between 2002 and 2004, in order to record the natural activity of that planet. The result was the images of the calls ‘blue dunes’.

This area is located in the north of Mars, one of the coldest places on the planet, where the temperature reaches -150 ° C. According to the space agency, it is precisely this variation in temperature that explains its color.

“In this false-color image, areas with cooler temperatures are recorded in bluer tones, while warmer features are depicted in yellows and oranges. Thus, the dark, sun-warmed dunes glow gold.” .

This means that what is recorded does not necessarily imply that there are blue areas on Mars, but rather that it is a photo taken with a thermal camera.

The photograph combines images taken during the period December 2002 to November 2004 by the thermal imaging system instrument on the Mars Odyssey orbiter.
