Massive phone failure in the US affects thousands of users in Miami

Since Thursday, thousands of US company AT&T users have experienced difficulties with their mobile phone services. Many media outlets in the country reported this, and identified malfunctions in more than 70,000 lines of the aforementioned company.

Therefore, AT&T reported that its network teams took immediate action and three-quarters of the network has been restored so far.

Likewise, the company also confirmed that it is “working as quickly as possible to restore service to remaining customers.”

For his part, Eric Goldstein, Deputy Executive Director for Cybersecurity at the Federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, made statements to CNN.

The official claimed that they are working closely with AT&T to understand the cause of the outage and its effects. Therefore, the Agency stands ready to provide any necessary assistance.

In fact, none of the concerned authorities mentioned anything about the reasons that led to this interruption.

Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis explained that his office has contacted AT&T, and it is continuing to work to restore emergency services.

What could happen in this regard?

There are several experts who have confirmed to CNN the FCC's almost certain investigation.

A former FCC official commented that carriers should report outage numbers over time. He added that, therefore, “the authority can track the number of consumers and cell locations.”

The FCC clearly wants to investigate the origin of the above incident. In addition, you will have complete freedom of action if you encounter misconduct or poor quality of network monitoring.

But in this context, AT&T was not the only company to report failures. T-Mobile and Verizon customers have also reported several difficulties with their services.

Likewise, other regional services like Cricket, Consumer Cellular, or Boost Mobile will experience some issues. Meanwhile, as of a few hours ago, about 25,000 users continued to report interruptions to their service, according to DownDetector.
