Matt Olson hit a grand slam as the Braves stunned the Rockies

ATLANTA – Matt Olson hit a grand slam in the first inning and the Atlanta Braves beat the Colorado Rockies 10-2 on Saturday for their fifth straight win.

Ozzie Albies, Eddie Rosario and Orlando Arcia homered as the NL-leading Braves (42-26) moved 19 games over .500. They went on to add 42 runs and 52 hits and lead the Major Leagues with 122 home runs.

The Braves asserted their dominance in the first with Olson’s 20th home run, a 424-footer to left field. They lead with 66 home runs in the first inning. Has 31 games to score at least one run in the first inning.

Bryce Elder (5-1) retired the first 11 batters he faced before Ryan McMahon hit a strong single in the top of the fourth that Albies couldn’t field in the second. He allowed a home run to Mike Moustakas in the fifth and finished with four hits and one run allowed, walks and four strikeouts in six innings.

For the Rockies, Venezuela’s Ezequiel Dover is 4-1; Elias Diaz 3-0; and Harold Castro 3-2 with RBI. Colombian Jorge Alfaro is 3-0.

For the Braves, Venezuela’s Ronald Acuna Jr. scored a run in a 4-1 victory; Orlando Arcia scored two runs and drove in two to make it 4-3. Puerto Rican Eddie Rosario had a run and an RBI in a 4-2 victory. Dominican Marcel Ozuna scored a run to make it 2-0.
