Message from Christina Applegate on her 50th birthday after being diagnosed with MS

(CNN) – Christina Applegate marks a milestone after revealing herself on her birthday Diagnosis Multiple sclerosis in August.

Applegate celebrated its 50th birthday with a message on Twitter to its fans on Thanksgiving Day. “Yes. I’m 50 today. And I have an MS. It was hard,” he wrote.

“I send so much love to all of you on this day,” Applegate continued. “Many people are suffering today. I’m thinking of you. We will have the strength to lift our heads. Mine is currently on my pillow. But I will try.”

The Multiple sclerosis Affects the central nervous system. It is considered an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks its own healthy cells. It affects the quality of life and can be disabled.

In an announcement she made earlier this year, the actress, best known for starring in the films “Bad Moms,” “Married … With Kids” and “Dead to Me”, shared that living with the disease is not easy.

“But I’m got a lot of support from people, and I know they have this level, too,” Applegate said. “This is a difficult path. But as we all know, the road continues.”

There is no cure for multiple sclerosis called MS, but many can control their symptoms and switch to new lifestyles after diagnosis.

Researchers believe that the disease is the result of environmental and genetic factors, but the underlying cause is unknown.

CNN’s Jack Guy contributed to this report.
