Narcomandes appears in Morelos with electoral threats

Mexico City.- Those caught buying votes in Morelos will be punished…for crime!

A criminal unit put up dozens of narco banners in Cuernavaca and Jüdebek this Thursday to warn hostile groups to avoid transporting people or threatening people not to go out to vote on election day.

Security sources indicated that army and state forces have been mobilized to track down those responsible for hanging the blankets.

“This fact is already creating concern,” warned an army chief.

The banners said that people could go to vote with “complete peace of mind” as there would be “surveillance” by the crime branch in every precinct.

We would like to warn that those caught buying votes will be severely punished.

Ahead of June 2 polls, the crime syndicate has also placed a phone number on the banner for people to lodge their complaints.

Morelos is disputed by at least three organized crime groups, including La Familia Michoacana and “Los de Cimbre.”

Additionally, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) intervenes in control of the region.

State police have counted 14 criminal gangs, though at least three are in conflict.

With this, Morelos already ranks second in the rate of intentional homicides per 100 thousand people, with 29.21 people, below Colima, which registers 34.89, according to statistics from the National Public Security Service (SNSP).

In the first four months of the year alone, there was a 34.4 per cent increase in homicide complaints, from 395 between January-April 2023 to 531 during the same period this year.
