Liverpool’s latest defeat away to Manchester City has left the Reds reeling after a horrendous run up the scoreboard.
The Citizens issued a statement in which they regretted the brutal actions of some fans who attacked a bus carrying players and coaching staff of a rival team.
Worst of all, during the vandalism, coach Jurgen Klopp was injured, with the quote stating, “The Liverpool coach was injured on the return journey after today’s game. We understand an object was thrown at the bus in a residential area.
“The club is disappointed to hear inappropriate chants from home fans during today’s match… We will continue to work with both clubs’ supporters’ groups and officials to eradicate hateful chants from this match,” the statement read.
According to The Athletic, a brick was thrown and a window was broken during the events, which could have caused Klopp’s injury. According to the City, Greater Manchester Police are already investigating the facts, although it is not known how serious it is,” the City statement said.
