Stephen A. Smith analyzes James Harden’s absence from 76ers practice
The 2018 MVP will embark on a new adventure with the Los Angeles Clippers alongside Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Russell Westbrook.
Harden requested a trade in June when he exercised his $35.6 million player option through the 2023-24 season and called 76ers president of baseball operations Daryl Morey a “liar” during a promotional appearance in China in August.
He has yet to play for Philadelphia this season, though he did appear with his teammates in blue jeans and a green sweatshirt at Sunday’s game, participating in game preparation and a video session with the 76ers.
Harden was scheduled to be part of the team’s practice Tuesday at the facility in Camden, New Jersey.
The 2018 MVP and 10-time All-Star, Harden averaged 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 10.7 assists last season with Philadelphia.
