The National Parliament premieres this week “Bicentennial Congress”, a cultural television production, under the leadership of actor Pold Gastelo, will cover the most important historical events of the beginning of the Republic, which are closely linked to the formation of the first Congress of Peru.

PARLIAMENT LAUNCHES “BICENTENNIAL CONGRESS”: CULTURAL PROGRAM ON THE OCCASION OF 200 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE
“Bicentennial Congress” will consist of six chapters that will aim to narrate in a didactic and entertaining way the historical events linked to the Congress of the Republic, emphasizing events and characters that made it up, as well as the historical value of its buildings and monumental spaces.
The production will also have the contribution of Gonzalo Torres, who is in charge of the scripts. Torres is the creator and host of the program “Around the corner” that for years spread the cultural value of different areas of the city of Lima.
In the same way, it will have the support of the historical research of the Special Multiparty Commemorative Commission of the Bicentennial of the Independence of Peru and the collaboration of historians and experts in parliamentary and constitutional issues.
The first chapter is dedicated to the antecedents of the national representation in the Cortes of Cádiz and how its influence was a guide for the first Peruvian constituents.
Meanwhile, the following chapters will deal with topics such as the installation of the first Congress and its most influential members; the history of the main premises and monuments of the Legislative; the history of the first Constitutions of Peru and the historical events that marked 200 years of parliamentary life, among others.
The program will be broadcast every Wednesday at 10:00 pm on the Congress TV signal and on Fridays at 11:00 pm on TVPerú.
