The city of Vigo will soon have a new public entertainment space for children in Fernando Ellaurieta Rey Square, thanks to the comprehensive reform that the council will carry out in the area, in the O Calvario neighborhood. The planned action aims to create a new area for rest and enjoyment for the little ones, as a park will be created with two different play areas, one for the little ones and the other for older boys and girls.

The aim of this measure is to develop a new space for the coexistence of citizens in Vigo where accessibility for people with limited mobility will also be guaranteed and will be equipped with inclusive and adapted elements so that all boys and girls can use the facilities. . Likewise, according to municipal sources, the redesign that will be carried out in the square, with an area of ​​1,029.75 square metres, will respect the tree mass, thus providing natural shade to the stadium as it will provide the different tree species present in the park being integrated into it.place.

As for the play areas, they will be divided into the northern garden designated for children, and the southern garden designated for the elderly. In the case of the first space, it will be equipped with a zipline, swings, tactile and sight games in order to promote socialization and creativity, as well as other physical movements. Musical elements, talking flowers and a trampoline will also be available. The second area will contain a large net and a wooden cabin from which a large slide will launch, in addition to rotation and balance elements.
