Mexico City. – The Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation, chaired by Representative Javier Joaquín Lopez Casarín (PVEM), approved, by 23 votes to 0 against and 1 abstention, the draft opinion on the initiative reforming and adding Article 13 of the Organic Law of the National Council for Science and Technology.
The proposal, signed by Rep. Gabriela Sodi Miranda (PRD), seeks to have the National Science and Technology Council’s support distribution for programmes, projects, studies, specific investigations, scholarship awards and any other economic aid, as an amendment. Likewise, by 23 votes in favour, the commission approved amendments to the opinion on the initiative to reform Articles 1 and 5 of the Organic Law of the National Council for Science and Technology, signed by Representative Olga Luz Espinosa Morales, of the Party of the Democratic Revolution, to replace the name “Federal District” with “Mexico”. Citi”, and “Secretariat for Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food” with the words “Secretariat for Agriculture and Rural Development”.
On the other hand, he supported an agreement asking the Political Coordination Council to authorize the holding of an event called “Recognition of the Scientific, Technological and Innovative Path of Mexico”, to highlight the work of Mexicans for their contributions to this issue. .
Representative Lopez Casarin specified that this event will be proposed to be held in August and that each parliamentary group will promote up to four prominent profiles in these areas.
“In the near future, the regions that will be recognized will be informed. He seeks to hold this type of event periodically, with the aim of recognizing those who profess this vocation, and who are present in each state of the Mexican Republic.”
