The Cuba Classico team sent 3 pitchers from Taipei

By Jose Alberto Bordela

The Cuban national baseball team, which is putting the finishing touches on its preparation for the World Baseball Classic, recently sent three pitchers to the Caribbean island.

These pitchers have played in the team’s practice games with multiple appearances on their record.

These are the cases of Marlon Vega of Mayabe, Javier Mirabal of Villa Clara and Frankie Quintana of Pinero.

These young men were invited to these challenges to shape the roster that will represent the Cuban team in the upcoming Classic, which is why they made the trip to the Asian countries.

These somehow “replaced” the pitchers of the MLB organization invited by Cuba, but as the latter’s merger date approached, they already had to clear those positions on the team roster.

Expressions of gratitude abounded for the three athletes, knowing that they would ultimately not be participating in the World Classic, all appreciating their gestures of trying their last for a common cause.

Thanks guys!
