Millions of Mexicans use this app every day to communicate, whether for work or socially. With the latest updates from the meta company that owns both WhatsApp, Instagram and Snapshot, it has improved the way operating systems work.
But the pros and cons also come because these upgrades have stopped working on different devices, which happens when WhatsApp receives updates and changes that no longer work on certain operating systems. This is about to happen because on April 30th cell phones will no longer be able to use this app because they are not compatible.

Platform changes
From time to time WhatsApp announces its updates and changes to the platform, and below is a list of devices that are not in use.
- Cell phones that work with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
- Devices with Android 4.1 or lower operating system.
- Devices with iOS 10 or lower operating system.
Users with Android Apple Pie, Banana Bread, Cupcake 1.5, Donut 1.6, Eclair 2.0, Froyo 2.2, Gingerbread 2.3, Honeycomb 3.0 and Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 can no longer use WhatsApp.
If you suspect your device is one of them, you can check by entering the configuration or settings and entering the System Info tab.
While this is sad news for device owners whose operating systems are no longer supported, new updates are important so that we can connect better.
All of these improvements are notified from time to time so users have an adjustment period and can switch their devices from one day to the next unnoticed. Now that you know which operating system is no longer in use and the date, you can take your precautionary measures.
