Secretary of Defense (DSP) Alexis Torres and Special Investigation Bureau (NIE) Commissioner Rafael Freight said an operation had been carried out this morning at various facilities in the municipality of Mayagis.
Mayagis Economic Development, Inc., a municipal corporation. Torres pointed out that this was related to information that led to an investigation in the municipality for the alleged project with (MDI).
“NIE agents, lawyers from the Department of Justice, DSP staff and experts from the Forensic Science Institute (ICF) are participating in this experiment to evaluate the documentary and digital evidence it handles,” the secretary said.
Search warrants include the mayor’s office, Jose Guillermo Rodriguez Rodriguez, the deputy mayor’s office, the finance office and the information technology and telecommunications office, Freight explained.
“We will have time to comply with the diligence of the court orders. At this time, we are unable to provide further information because this is an ongoing investigation,” Freight said, thanking ICF staff for their cooperation in the case.
