“There are no signs of gunfire or explosions in any part of the airport,” the Cancun International Airport Emergency Response Center said.
To achieve this commitment, they worked closely with the National Guard, the Federal Civil Aviation Agency, and the Secretary of the Navy.
Due to the above reasons, the operations of Airport Terminal 3 were suspended for a short period of time and the Center further said that it was not more than 2 hours.
The Cancun Airport Emergency Response Center said security forces were conducting a permanent investigation to find out the cause of the alert among passengers and airport users.
Similarly, the National Guard noted that the noise heard by some passengers was derived from the inadvertent fall of three advertisements at the airport, which were knocked down by tourists.
At 11:30 a.m., according to the first report, users heard an explosion, causing passengers to panic and run away.
The incident sparked an intense mobilization of security forces from the National Guard and the Secretary of Defense.
