On this day, three mixed-breed puppies in a box were abandoned at the Center for Animal Welfare (CBA), according to the report.
César René Díaz Gutierrez, head of the Department of Ecology, of which the CBA is a part, said that this is a frequent practice, but it is a wrongdoing and those responsible may be punished.
According to the Animal Welfare Act for the state of Chihuahua, abandonment is also a form of abuse, so those responsible will be punished, and the official said the cameras are already being analyzed to find out who abandoned these puppies.
She opined that the situation would have been different if the person had waited until animal welfare staff expressed her desire to adopt the puppies.
Díaz Gutierrez emphasized the importance of not abandoning pets because they are living creatures that depend on us for their well-being and survival.
Abandoning a pet is not only cruel, but also has serious consequences for both CBA and pet rescue and adoption by contributing to overpopulation of abandoned animals.
Instead, we take the responsibility of taking proper care of our pets and giving them a dignified and happy life, he said.
