They seized €8 million in cash that an Italian doctor had hidden in his home


This Monday, the Italian financial watchdog seized nearly eight million euros in cash hidden in the home of a doctor from Naples, southern Italy, the source of which he could not justify, according to a statement.

The operation was carried out during a home inspection of a doctor who works for social security and has a studio in the city of Pompeii in the Campania region (south) and is being investigated for tax evasion.

Around eight million euros in cash was hidden behind a cabinet, separated into bundles of 20, 50, 100 and 200 euros, and wrapped in envelopes containing notes.

The amount of money was proportionate to the income declared by the doctor and according to the financial police officer, who seized the money along with relevant documents in a report, was an “extraordinary amount due to the amount and the manner in which it was stored”. along with his professional activities.

Confiscation of money was approved by the court, considering its illegal origin very probable.
