They take the science dilemma to an apocalyptic scenario

The development of artificial intelligence, featuring non-existent landscapes, music that was never recorded, robotic dogs and video games that resemble alternate realities, inspired Chinese Liu Cixin to write The Three-Body Problem which, in turn, prompted the creators of Game of Thrones to make a new adaptation of the screen.

In this new installment of the live broadcast, technology becomes available to humanity to attract an alien race that invades Earth after the Chinese government sends a secret signal into space.

The story focuses on Thomas Wade, the head of an intelligence agency that seeks to assess the damage technological advances are causing to humanity in the midst of an apocalyptic scenario, while exploring the various moral and ethical dilemmas they bring with them.

It is a series that premieres on March 21 on Netflix, and it stars Mexican Eiza Gonzalez and some members of the Game of Thrones cast, such as Liam Cunnigham (Thomas Wade) and John Bradley.

“Any new technology that comes along can be used for good or for evil,” Cunningham says in an interview. “There are beautiful books and dangerous books. It all depends on what mature adults do with that information.”

For the 62-year-old actor, technology is a tool that varies from person to person.

“Some use technology to cause harm and others to treat diseases, that's what our series is about, but the only thing that will help us move forward is if we use it for good. This is a reflection that we hope will be used in the hands of people who see the benefit to humanity, he explains.

Cunningham adds that some people in the series believe the invasion will save humanity, while others believe it will destroy it.

“But there are also great young people who have a responsibility to come up with solutions, and then there are the characters who do our job, which is to assess how much damage we are doing to protect ourselves.”

John Bradley, who plays Jack Rooney, agrees; He believes that the exciting progress of artificial intelligence could bring reality closer to the dystopian story presented in the eight-episode series.

In fact, NASA announced last September that it was using high-tech satellites combined with artificial intelligence to aid it in its relentless search for extraterrestrial life.

“I remember when people started talking about AI a couple of years ago and it was good, but it was still in its early stages and the way it has evolved from that point to now makes you wonder what we will be able to achieve in this field,” Bradley says. “Two years or so.” . 10 years”.

“It's exciting, but also scary, as the lines between reality and unreality are becoming blurred,” he adds.

“Working with Eiza Gonzalez is a dream, she is an amazing woman, she is amazing and a pleasure, she is great company to be on set and also has a great personality and listens. Eiza is like a movie star, we are just actors,” says Conigham.

“Isa is like the movie Todo, everywhere and at the same time, because she is in all the projects and we are proud to have her in our projects. We are very lucky to have her, and she also gave us a bottle of tequila,” says Benedict Wong, who plays Da Xi.
