The National Council for Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (Concytec) announced that the city of Juliaca in the Puno region will be the scene of the first regional meeting of science and technology clubs. This event will take place on Thursday, June 13, 2024 and will be held at the American Adventist Educational Foundation from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The main objective of this event is to contribute to enhancing the quality of education by promoting scientific culture, social appropriation of science, technology and technological innovation (CTI), and promoting scientific careers in regular basic education.
The meeting will include the participation of teachers and students from science and technology clubs in the Bono region, with an invitation to 53 clubs totaling about 450 people including primary and secondary students and counsellors.
During the event, several activities designed to promote collegiality and scientific thinking among attendees will be organized. Among these activities, stand out are “Identity Creation”, where participants will create their team name, representative colour, power cry and elect a captain, and “Goldberg Machine”, a scientific reasoning test where clubs will compete in building a complex chain reaction machine.
