Chinese weightlifter Li Fabin not only won the gold medal in weightlifting in the 61kg category this weekend, but was able to lift 166kg by grabbing one leg.
This happened during his first attempt at cleanliness and stupidity – weightlifting is divided into two tests: snatch and clean and stupid – where the athlete must keep the weight with his whole body.
There, Fabin did a maneuver that forced him to weigh 166 kg –Almost three times your own body weight– On his left leg.
But serious injury can occur in any case because it is a way for the Chinese weightlifter to control the lifting load he gets to score in the competition.
In fact, this is not the first time you’ve tried this technique. He had already done so at the 2017 Asian Championships. There he told the media that he was not “insulting” his rivals, But the best way to control weights.
Fabian picked up the gold after lifting 313 kg (the combined score between Snatch and Klein and Jerk, as the results are calculated in this Olympic discipline).
The silver went to Indonesian Echo Yuli Irawan and the bronze went to Kazakh Igor’s son.
