The Botí Center will host, from today until December 12, the exhibition ‘Calculation error’, an exhibition that, through the works of twelve Andalusian artists, offers a panorama of how artistic productions are related to scientific research .
The president of the Rafael Botí Provincial Plastic Arts Foundation, Salud Navajas, highlighted that “it is an interesting proposal that makes us reflect on the link between artistic production and technological and scientific advances.”
“The discoveries of the different theories that help us to explain the world are supported and are reflected in the artistic manifestations that produce echoes in them and also propose other forms of knowledge and knowledge,” said the deputy.
The exhibition is made up of more than thirty works -installations, video installations, sculptures, photographs, drawings, painting and sound art- and is a reflection of the most recent contemporary Andalusian art through the works of Álvaro Albaladejo, Pablo Capitán del Río, Martínez Bellido, Cristina Mejías, Regina de Miguel, Laura Llaneli, Rafael Pérez, Cristina Ramírez, Julia Llerena, Alegría y Piñero, Moreno and Grau, in relation to a historical project of Equipo 57.
Miscalculation proposes how the link between art and science goes beyond technology, showing itself as another form of knowledge, another different, uncertain and complex knowledge.
The exhibition will also have a wide didactic program and parallel activities, the result of the collaboration of the Botí Foundation and UCOCultura-University of Córdoba.
