Unions and social movements are betting on gaining space within the union for the city

United, the space that brings together trade unions, social movements and political groups in Buenos Aires, is betting on getting a space within United for the City, the electoral front of Peronism in the metropolitan area, and for them they set up a thousand tables to collect support.

With the aim of gathering endorsements from citizens and gaining support to join the list of units or compete in the PASO, the sector took to the streets on Saturday and also took the opportunity to present its agenda.

The axes of the proposal for this space that unions, social movements and political groups integrate are the participatory, residential, productive, safe and inclusive city.

Faced with the closure of the lists, Unidos sources confirmed that they will participate in all categories of the city and 15 communes of Buenos Aires with representatives from all sectors.

In this sense, they confirmed that they are looking for a proposal that can be expressed in a unit list or in a STEP, if there are differences to settle the nominations.

“This administration has changed priorities. We have the profession and the experience to step up and be the government’s choice,” said Jonathan Thea, one of the city’s Evita Movement candidates.

He added: “At UNIDOS we meet unions, social movements, groups and different actors who believe that our space should really accommodate the city conflict. It is necessary to promote a larger project and this can be achieved on its own if we join new champions or with STEP where the nuances can be ironed out.”
