NY Altitude assignment Victor Vembaniama It’s become as titanic as he is, and it’s not over yet.
However, the player who is sure to be the first overall pick in the NBA draft is probably 7-foot-4. Or not.
Although the league lists that height in the draft guide posted on the media website, it is not official.
September is the deadline for the San Antonio Spurs — assuming they draft Wembaniyama with the first pick Thursday night — to file an official shoeless move with the league.

Vembanyama’s height, shown in the draft guide, comes amid conflicting reports about the lanky Frenchman. It’s not official because Vembaniyama didn’t attend the NBA Draft combine in May, where the exact measurement of prospects is calculated.
Vembanyama – who arrived in New York on Monday – threw out the first pitch at the New York Yankees’ Tuesday night baseball game against the Seattle Mariners.
The basketball player wore a pinstriped jersey with “New York” written across the chest and Joe DiMaggio’s No. 5 among the numbers.
Standing on the rubber, he threw a low, wide throw toward the first base line.
Wembaniyama noted in October that he was 7-foot-3 during exhibition matches with his French professional club in Las Vegas. But, at only 19 years old, he may have grown even more since then.
A few internet searches about his height explains why everything changes from 7-2 to 7-5.
However, none of the above really mattered to Spurs, who were the first to know how tall Wembanyama was.
