Bolivian officials say the cause of the crash was mechanical failure. In practice two pilots on the plane escaped.
A Bolivian Air Force plane has crashed in a residential area in Gogapamba’s Sahaba municipality this Wednesday, killing at least one person and injuring several others, local media reports.
Preliminary reports say the crashed plane collided with a K-8 jet and a house. The deceased is a resident of the residence. Another person at the scene was injured.
The impact was captured on video, which shows a smoke column in the community area. In another clip released by RT, you can see local people trying to help the victims.
Regarding those on board, authorities said two pilots were on board and managed to catch the catapult in a timely manner. They were doing flight training.

After the impact, an explosion was heard, the witness said. Neighbors in the area approached the site to try to extinguish the flames consuming the entire house.
The causes of the accident could have been mechanical failures.
Both pilots are stable, one is under medical observation in Kochabamba and the other is being investigated over the incident, Kochabamba Police Chief Colonel Johnny Corals told media.

FAB’s aeronautical technicians, municipal guards, firefighters and police from Sahaba are at the scene to control and determine the cause of the crash.
