This option will simplify interactions with contact levels, allowing users to operate more easily. Currently, people have to swipe and choose from multiple emojis to react to statuses on WhatsApp.

According to WaBetaInfo, the option to 'Like' WhatsApp statuses is available in the beta version for Android.

Likes work on WhatsApp just like they do on Instagram. At the bottom right of each status is a heart icon indicating the 'Like' option. To 'like' a status, select the heart and the other person will receive a notification.

This feature is available in WhatsApp Beta for Android. This is a version of the app that includes features that are not yet ready for the stable version, but is available to a small group of users who will test them and give feedback to the WhatsApp developers.
