The Municipality and the gastronomic sector will coordinate actions to implement Ordinance No. 16245/24, which will allow a thoughtful and respectful occupation on the sidewalk. It will be for licensed businesses that meet the requirements.
The Municipality of Salta will work in coordination with the food and related sectors to implement Order No. 16245/24.
The purpose of this provision is to regulate the use of the public space of the dining area, with the placement of chairs and tables.
“With the regulations, we will not only regulate public space, but we will control respectful use, but it will also be profitable, economically, for the gastronomic sector,” explained Esteban Carral, Minister of Public Space and Citizen Protection.
He added: “In this first phase, we are calling on representatives of the dining rooms and related rooms to work in coordination and identify the requirements for the correct use of sidewalks and/or roads.”
The new law will apply to licensed commercial establishments such as: bars, cafes, pastry shops, ice cream parlors, pizzerias and restaurants.
Tables, chairs, umbrellas and/or decks may be placed, as long as the space conforms to the required proportions, is clearly defined, and ensures a distance between them and the pedestrian space.
In addition, work will be done with the Municipality Secretary for Traffic and Road Safety, who will issue the feasibility of determining and occupying the front road for licensed companies.
